ABOUT KAZINGA CHANNEL

Overview

The Kazinga Channel is a spectacular 32-kilometer natural waterway that links Lake Edward and Lake George in Uganda’s Queen Elizabeth National Park. Famous for its incredibly high concentration of hippos, the channel is one of the best spots in Africa for wildlife viewing by boat.

Along its banks, you’ll see elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles, and a dazzling array of birds—including fish eagles, kingfishers, and pelicans. A boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel offers a front-row seat to the vibrant wildlife and is a must-do experience for any safari traveler exploring Uganda’s western circuit.
