Overview
You will visit the genocide memorial, Camp Kigali Memorial, Viewing Kigali at the top of the Mt.Kigali. The golden monkey (Cercopithecus mitis kandti) is a critically endangered primate that is found in the Virunga Mountains of Rwanda and Uganda. These monkeys are known for their golden fur and their playful nature. They are also highly social animals and live in groups of up to 30 individuals.
Golden monkeys are an important part of the ecosystem of the Virunga Mountains. They help to disperse seeds and pollinate plants. They are also preyed upon by leopards and eagles.
Golden monkey trekking is a popular activity in Rwanda. It is a great way to see these amazing creatures in their natural habitat and learn about their conservation.
Full Itinerary
Kigali City Tour
-8:00 am : Drive to Kigali Genocide Memorial
-10:00 am : Drive to the Campaign Against Genocide Museum
-11:30 am: Drive to Kimironko Market and experience local shopping for fruits, vegetables, clothes and handcrafts.
-12:40 : Have your lunch at a local restaurant
-13:40 : Visit to Inema Arts Center
-14:40 : Drive to Kandt House Museum
- 15:40 : Drive to Camp Kigali Memorial
-16:00 : Drive to Mt. Kigali for Horse Riding/ Kigali Viewing on top of the Mountain
End of Day 1
Akagera National Park
Transfer to Akagera National Park at 5:00 am for a morning boat trip and full day game drive, sighting wild animals, afterwards, drive back to Kigali, Dinner and overnight in Kigali at your Hotel
Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
Morning transfer to the Volcanoes National Park. En route visit a local agricultural entrepreneur and visit Kirenge Cultural Village. Overnight at your Hotel in Musanze.

Golden monkeys trekking experience.
Breakfast at 6:30 am and get ready for Golden Monkeys trekking. Check up at the park’s head office at 7:00 am, be assigned with a guide and start your trek. Afterwards, drive to Rubavu for Hot spring tour, Lake Kivu boat tour and drive back to Kigali in the evening, drop off at the Airport or your Hotel.
